The Mitsubishi Evolution Promotion Site works (operational and on the internet).
All buttons are operational.
Videos work.
All images are uploaded.
Evaluationevaluation_form.pdf Refer to the completed Peer Evaluation Form on the above attachment.
Based on this form, a fellow peer made the following comments:
"The website provides the following information: 1. Specification for the Evolution Range, to which there are two to choose from, Evolution X and Evolution X MR. 2. Specification for the Lancer Ralliart Range, to which there are two to choose from, Lancer Ralliart Sportback and Lancer Ralliart Sedan. 3.Image Gallery 4.Videos Over all the presentation and information serves to promote Mitsubishi by showcasing two of its elite, high performing ranges."
The suggested changes recommended in the peer evaluation are as follows:
Presentation:
Have the buttons on the side. This is easier on the eyes.
Content:
A page containg links to dealerships.
Comments on the performance of these two ranges from people who own those cars.
Both of the presentation and content suggestions are logical, they will be taken into account and highlighted to Mitsubishi during the next routine update of the website.
Maintenance
In order to properly maintain the system, the following points will be exercised:
Publish a procedure for submitting information for the site.
Establish a routine with Mitsubishi for updating the site and create a Job sheet to document your work. See examplejob_sheet.pdf Ask others to view the site periodically.
Respond promptly to inquiries.
Backup all files on a regular basis.
Recommend to Mitsubishi a Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) for the server, if one does not already exist.
Recommend to Mitsubishi a server protection solution such as Grisoft - AVG Internet Security SBS Edition This security solution protects the server against common internet threats such viruses, worms, trojans, spyware, adware combined with desktop anti-spam and firewall protection.
If more than one person has access to the server, a procedure will be published for a clear version control in order to be updating the most current version of the site.
Regularly check the web server logs to view which areas are accessed most often and to determine if there are any patterns to the errors that are logged.
The social and ethical issues to consider are:
1. Data security - it is important to keep data safe as deliberate or accidental damage of it can be a costly exercise for Mitsubishi. Thus, there is a need to consider passwords, firewalls and backup procedures.
2. Data validation - is to insure that the data is accurate so that viewers of the website attain the right information. False advertisement/promotion would ruin Mitsubishi' reputation.
3. Copyright (ethical and legal issue) - all images, videos and data have been authorised for use by Mitsubishi.
The Testing, Evaluation and Maintenance phase has largely been a success. There had been some suggestions made by a fellow peer which was backed up by most other students who had viewed and tested the website. These suggestions will be taken on board and implemented pending the approval by Mitsubishi.
